Press news about starting of EYCC 2012

On Thursday 16th August officially with the opening ceremony started European Youth Chess Championship 2012 in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic.

The first round of the championship has started on Friday 17th at the record of 1173 players from 46 countries (104 titled players including 13 IM, 1 WGM and 4 WIM)!

Most players came from Russia (186 players) and Czech Republic (154 players).

Tournament takes place in TOP HOTEL Prague (http://en.tophotel.cz/) and is under the auspice of mayor of Prague Mr. Bohuslav Svoboda.

The event is played at 12 categories, boys and girls under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 years old.

B 18, G 18: FM Anton Guijarro David (ESP, 2526), WGM Goryachkina Aleksandra (RUS, 2361)

B 16, G16: FM Boruchovsky Avital (ISR, 2415), Varga Melinda (HUN, 2232)
